Exceptional care.

The Karis Dental Clinic Team

We are driven by our mission.

Following the example of our Lord Jesus Christ by serving others through the provision of quality dental and health care to low-income adults in our community.

Karis Dental Clinic was founded in 2013 as a result of efforts by The Caring Place and United Way to address the unmet need of adult dental care in Bradley County.

Karis Dental offers comprehensive dental care along with life-changing and recurring services such as dentures and regular cleanings for patients.

In 2021, Karis Medical Clinic opened to provide check-ups, diagnoses, and treatments for a variety of physical ailments and conditions— all from a team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff.

The name Karis means grace. We seek to extend God’s grace by providing excellent yet affordable dental care to uninsured adults in our community.

Karis follows the example of Jesus Christ by serving others in love with a range of services and support systems to create an atmosphere where patients can thrive.

Karis also offers dental & medical education and spiritual support as an attempt to ensure long term and holistic success that is sustainable.

Dr. James Ohlsson, DDS

Founding Member

Dr. James Ohlsson has over 25 years of experience as a general dentist in private practice and has served the last nine in Bradley County. He came on board to help launch Karis Dental Clinic with his wife Kelly in order to give back and provide care for low-income patients.

Kelly Ohlsson

Executive Director

Kelly worked as a registered nurse after graduating from UT Memphis with a BSN. She and Dr. Ohlsson have been married for 25 years and have four beautiful children and one granddaughter.
